Jared Goff had a near-perfect game this past week vs the Jaguars. I know the Jaguars are at the bottom of the NFL, but going 24 of 29 would be tough to do on air, let alone against an NFL defense.
Ben Johnson relied heavily on concepts that used shallow crossing routes. Shallow routes are good at attacking man coverage, but when paired with good zone beaters, they can work as a check-down. It will also hold linebackers from getting a deeper drop, allowing more space to open up intermediate routes.
